Health care should meet the needs of everyone—no matter who you are, where you live, or who you love. Our Commitment to Health Equity and Better Health Outcomes

We have always been committed to your health and the wellbeing of our communities. Today, we are making that commitment even more accountable

Understanding what shapes your health

Research shows that your health may be impacted by many things beyond medical care. These things include:

  • Race and ethnicity
  • Age
  • Education
  • Employment
  • Income and economic stability
  • Sexual orientation
  • Gender and gender identity
  • Neighborhood and housing conditions
  • Access to transportation
  • Access to healthy food
  • Social support and safety
  • Primary language
  • Tribal affiliation
  • Disability status
  • Veteran and/or military status

Many of these things may be outside your control. And many may be influenced by bias. The work of Health Outcomes and Community Impact is to address these impacts on your health. It also challenges the biases that have created different outcomes for different people.

Change doesn’t happen overnight. The first step is to understand more about you, so we know what barriers you face. This information helps us create solutions to support you and offer you better care.

How you can help

Helping you be healthier means knowing more about you. Log in to your member account to tell us a little more about yourself. Sharing information is optional, but the answers will help us offer better and more personal care. This information will be kept safe. It will not affect your health coverage or premiums.
