FamilyCare Medical Group
At Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, we are in contract discussions with FamilyCare Medical Group (FCMG) in Central New York. FCMG has notified us of its decision to terminate its participation agreement with Excellus BCBS if a new contract isn’t agreed upon by December 31, 2024.
We have been meeting regularly with FCMG to work towards a mutually agreed upon provider contract. We believe that progress has been made on the issues presented to us by FCMG and feel optimistic that we are on a track to resolution.
It’s unfortunate that FCMG chose to notify you about contract discussions and create unnecessary worry when we still have several months to come to a mutually agreed upon contract. These discussions are typical for this time of year and there is still ample time to come to an agreement.
It’s important for you as Excellus BCBS members to know that at this time you may continue to access services from FCMG providers as you normally do.
98 Percent of Local Providers are In-Network
For over 23 years Excellus BCBS has been proud to have FCMG as a participating provider. Excellus BCBS has an extensive network that includes 98 percent of local providers, and we know you value the care you receive at FCMG.
During contract discussions, FCMG has shared that they fully intend to go forward in a mutually agreed upon contract with Excellus BCBS. We are focused on access to high-quality care that’s as affordable as possible. We are confident we’ll reach an agreement.
Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions for more details on which services are covered as in-network.
