Excellus BlueCross BlueShield reports record satisfaction among provider partners responding to its 2025 survey

In a time of unprecedented rising costs and growing demand for health care, a recent provider satisfaction survey highlights Excellus BlueCross BlueShield’s commitment to provider collaboration. The health plan reports earning an 81% overall provider satisfaction score in its annual survey – up from 78% in 2024 and exceeding enterprise goals.

The survey, conducted last fall, invited in-network medical professionals to rate their experience across multiple categories and provide feedback about their work with Excellus BCBS. This year’s survey saw its highest response rate since inception, suggesting increased provider engagement.

“Rising costs and increasing demand for hospital services and prescription drugs are challenging patients, providers, and health plans alike,” said Misty Postol, vice president of provider relations and communications. “Meeting these challenges requires strong partnerships. These results reflect our commitment to working side by side with providers to ensure the health of our members and communities.”

The survey also provides data about the progress Excellus BCBS continues to make with its multi-year Integrated Provider Experience initiative. The initiative includes efforts to introduce technology and self-service tools to make provider interactions with the health insurer easier and more efficient. Provider feedback remains central to these efforts, guiding improvements and reinforcing Excellus BCBS’ mission to improve the lives of its members through access to high-quality care that is as affordable as possible.
