Excellus BlueCross BlueShield will celebrate the opening of the Resource Center of the Mohawk Valley, located at 62 Kellogg Rd., New Hartford, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27. The public is invited to this free event, which will include light refreshments from 10 to 11 a.m. In addition to the ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce, the public is invited to tour the building.
The Resource Center is now open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. It serves as Excellus BCBS’s new public office for the Utica Region, featuring retail sales consultants available to help individuals enroll in health insurance, regardless of age or financial status. They can also assist with Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Supplement Plans, and Prescription Drug Plans.
Enrollment specialists will support those who are not eligible for Medicare with individual product enrollment on or off the NY State of Health Marketplace. This includes Qualified Health Plans, the Essential Plan, Child Health Plus, and Medicaid Managed Care.
Additionally, customer care advocates will be available for face-to-face visits to address claims, billing, benefits, and other inquiries from existing members.
"We're excited to bring this valuable resource to the Utica Region," said Tony Vitagliano, Excellus BCBS Senior Vice President of Provider Network Engagement and Utica Regional President. "As a local company, our goal is to ensure that everyone has access to quality health insurance that is as affordable as possible. The center is an ideal place for the public to get answers to all their health insurance questions from people who live, work and play right in the communities we serve."
Along with the Excellus BCBS Resource Center of the Mohawk Valley, the insurer also has centers in Johnson City and Greece that are open to the public.
